TRAIL PATROL

If you are a father, grandfather, uncle—or other type of father figure — set aside one day each year to attend school with your kids. Not only will your presence absolutely delight your children, it increases security, reduces bullying, and sends a strong message that education is important to every kid at Shawnee Trail!

Here's what you need to do:

Request an FISD Background Check
This process takes about a week, so do it now.

When your background check comes back,
you can choose a date to serve

Your day at Shawnee Trail on TRAIL PATROL could include:

  • Safety patrol (during morning drop-off)

  • Eating lunch with kids, helping in the cafeteria

  • Playing at recess

  • Reading with kids

  • Working with kids in small groups (practicing spelling, flash cards, etc.)

  • Safety patrol (during afternoon pick-up)

Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and father figures…This is your chance to get involved with your student(s) in a fun atmosphere at school.
